On Friday, 16 Dec 2005, students at Eisenhower Junior High School in Taylorsville, Utah (USA) set a new world record for the longest straw chain. 133 ninth grade students successfully connected almost 43,000 drinking straws to produce a continuous straw chain that measured 7,401 m [24,167 feet] in length.
