High wire motorcycling, wheelie speed record - Current world record 1. Johann Traber jr. and Katharina Traber set the speed record for a motorcycle wheelie on a tightrrope. On 13 August 2005, they achieved a speed of 53 km/h at the "Tummelum" festival in Flensburg, Germany. For this stunt, they used a motorcycle with a specially prepared back wheel. A speed record with an unmodified back wheel was set by Roberto Stey and Jessica Traber (Germany) at the city festival "Bunter Hering" in Frankfurt/Oder, Germany.
